Dragons

While at Seaton Marshes, plenty of Dragonflies about but most at a distance that I couldn't properly Id.

But along the ditch towards the tower hide that looks over the Axe there was a very obliging Migrant Hawker, stunning insect!

That makes 10 Dragons/Damselfly's for the summer, not really seen that many? possibly because lots of places had dried up? don't know

Seaton Marshes

Had a really great session at Seaton marshes, there had been reports of Pictorial Sandpiper, the weather was good and some free time so off I went.

The car park was filling up and by the time I got to the Island Hide plenty of "Experts" there to point me in the right direction for which I was grateful as they all had scopes and I had just bins!

Not only the Pec but other new ones such as Curlew and Wood Sandpipers, all new for the list, other waders included Godwits, Curlew, Dunlin, Common Sandpiper, Snipe, Red, Green and Spotted -red Shanks also Lapwing, Mute Swan, Mallard, Black-headed, Herring and GBB Gulls, Canada Geese, Cormorants, Grey Heron, Little Egret, Carrion Crows, Jackdaws, Robin, Great and Blue Tits, House Sparrows, Swallows, Woodpigeons and best of all was a Juvenile Osprey who I watch successfully catch a fish in the River Axe, frustratingly I the settings was not correct on my camera and the pics were not the best!

And funnily while having a cuppa with Steph and Rob at the cafe, Rob pointed his scope at a nest box and showed me a Barn Owl, another first for the year! That makes 141 on the list, slowly rising, not as many as I could have but just so busy!

Great to see Steph and Rob, Dave Boult as well and I recogenise several others that I cant name.
